A meandering road ebbs and flows through the hills of New York’s backcountry, greeting and serving the steadings of the folks who call these mountains home. Here the winter comes early and has been known to overstay its welcome at times. But as fresh snow falls, heralding the meteorological shift in towards a long harsh winter, it dispatches a peaceful stillness that floods the surrounding hollows, reminding us that we all exist in a uniquely wonderful and beautifully tangled existence.
